Screening and Post-Screening Sharing Session
From PolyU to the UK: to Go or to Stay
In November 2019, protesters occupying the Hong Kong Polytechnic University faced a dilemma with no easy way out. Some chose to boldly break through, others stayed cautiously behind, while many managed to escape with help from various groups. The siege of PolyU that day, much like the loss of freedom in Hong Kong today and the diaspora of Hongkongers scattered across the globe, reflects a shared struggle with an uncertain future. Every decision to go or stay is a painful thread that binds the Hong Kong community, a pain we cannot avoid.
This re-screening of PolyU Siege urges us not only to remember the resistance and sacrifices of 2019 but also to reflect on our own choices for a collective future in the Post-Screening Sharing Session with Protesters at PolyU.
